MODERN METHODS OF PROFESSIONAL HYGIENE

Regular visits to the dentist, prompt treatment, training individual hygiene and regular preventive measures of childhood largely determine the health of the child in the future. [7]. The problem is that 90% of dentists are missing the skill to work with hand tools (hand scaler), which does not allow to fully achieve the complete elimination of microbial biofilms, which is a major factor in periodontal diseases [5, 7, 8]. Existing preventive system focuses on individual motivation and patient education oral hygiene. Only with regular professional hygiene may prevention of periodontal disease. Marked by high-quality processing of surfaces of the tooth, which consists in the complete removal of supragingival plaque with gentle effect on the enamel of the tooth due to the shape and size of powder pellets, as well as the reduction of plaque formation in more distant periods of clinical observations [4, 9]. In clinical practice it is recommended that professional powders air-flow to use when removing supragingival plaque Air-Flow Classic Air-Flow Classic Comfort, Air-Flow Soft and when removing subgingival plaque –Air-Flow Perio [1, 2, 3, 6]. The latest development of EMS is a powder Air-Flow Plus, which is recommended for removal of both supragingival and subgingival dental calculus, especially when their heightened sensitivity. The main components of the abrasive powder PROPHYpearls (KaVo Gmbh) is calcium carbonate, the particles of which are spherical shape with a grain size of 60-70 microns, which relate to the tooth surface and, due to the porous structure, absorb the residue in them, creating a snowball effect by removing plaque on a large area and do not require additional polishing [10]. For removing subgingival plaque and removal of dental plaque from the surface of the implant firm KaVo offers professional abrasive powder PROPHYflexPerio. A distinctive feature of this powder is the use of pellets of the glycine with a size of 18-22 microns, which have no abrasive effect on the cement of the tooth root and implant surfaces.
