Analysis of Kazakh blogs segment of the Internet.
How many blogs are included in the Kazakh system of
the blogosphere? It is difficult to say because of the determination of
Kaznet's boundaries. Whether it's sites with domain kz, whether it's resources
about Kazakhstan or pages created by Kazakhs, and maybe it's sites in the Kazakh
language? It's not an idle question, because the answer to it depends on many
things - from number of Kaznet's blogs,
to the problem of how far the legislation of Kazakhstan spreads in the Internet
.
In 2007, the author of the literary overview
blog Bakhytgul Salykova asked bloggers: “Why am I blogging in the Kazakh
language?”. Aside from listing personal interests, many answered that they
published useful posts and because it promotes to content's syndication and
helps users to find relevant information. It is important for the majority of
respondents that they can replenish Kaznet's content. Thanks to these bloggers,
there appeared a lot of material about literature, information technology,
journalism and publicism in the Kazakh language in the Internet. To the
question: “Why have you become to keep your blogs in the Kazakh language?” 63%
of respondents said that this is due to their personal interests. Most bloggers
come to the blogosphere to share their experiences, realize their ideas, assert
themselves or communicate. As for the difficulties with blogging, then 74% of
respondents said that there wasn't particular problem, and 26% were not able to
update their web page frequently due to the inaccessibility of the Internet.
86% of respondents also said that they find important information for
themselves on the pages of the Kazakh blogosphere.
Interestingly,
the topic of blogs in the Kazakh language is somewhat different from Russian
resources. Their peculiarity lies in the fact that there are published articles
that would never find its place in the media. For example, the discussion
became quite a record of whether to place a flag of a non-existent Uighur
Government on machines' glass. No less actively discussed religious issues ,
etc. According to experts, Russian bloggers are more concerned about the social
aspects of life, and Kazakh bloggers about problems of national character .
Popular
blogging platform «yvision.kz» in early 2012 introduced the first and currently
the only cultural and educational magazine " Ekpin " in the form of a
team blog , the purpose of which is to involve the audience in the Kazakh
language blogosphere . The Journal allows to post comments , and view videos,
music , and most importantly, readers can write posts for the magazine . It should be noted that the popular
blog-platform Kaznet in April 2009 moved its interface to the Kazakh language .
According to the words of the platform's developers, Kazakh language version is
used by about 200 people now. Website translation influenced by the number of
Kazakh blog- platform , but on the quality it did nothing. This can be
explained by the fact that the blog platform's main audiences are programmers ,
web designers and site builders . People in these professions are fluent in
English and Russian languages, and they discussed topics ( the latest news from
the IT sector : web browsers, software , operating system, creating of sites ,
marketing, web design ), respectively, are written from the primary source ,
and the posts in the Kazakh language often go unheeded . Hence we can conclude
that News of IT sphere in the Kazakh language is unclaimed , and if it's in
demand , it's not covered in the right quality and quantity of any journalists
or bloggers .
Dynamic growth
is seen in mastering new ways of communicating information by bloggers. Thus,
in 2007 there were the first podcast in the state language. Journalist Ashat
Erk³mbay in the blog «Neweurasia» recorded the first audio recording of a
Kazakh - girl living in the Czech Republic. Later programmer Kuanish Magzuov (
Almaty ) also began to record podcasts on IT .
Obviously, the
Kazakh Resources is now at the stage of the new development. Unfortunately in
the blogs we see information that is of interest to authors of web pages , and
their opinions and views are not far away from the point of view of the
official media . The only plus of bloggers is that their information is timely
and news can generate comments and discussions , thereby decentralized topic
material. One can predict that in future blogs in Kazakh become more pictorial
, they will appear more hyperlinks leading to new resources in Kazakh
(dictionaries , libraries, encyclopedias ) , new terms ( which have already run
out into the Kazakh language ) , audio and video files . And most importantly,
will be a unique content and people who have a responsibility and are more
willing to engage in the development of Kazakh-language blogosphere to create a
truly useful and high-quality project.
