DRILL PIPE RATIONAL USAGE SOME ASPECTS

Nowadays the fuel and energy security of Ukraine is
extremely important. Due to the limited resources of oil and gas deposits have
to develop at great depths, and use horizontal directional drilling. Modern
drilling technology designed to increase capacity of equipment or alternative
materials. Resources increase capacity drives are limited and economically
impractical. Economically rational use of alloy materials is extremely
important. The difficulty in this case is a reasonable choice of material. The
options are aluminum alloys known from the last century. In recent years,
foreign experience of high-deformed aluminum alloy drill pipe for making them
displayed significant advantages over steel, including the major proportion is
smaller and higher specific strength. This factor is particularly important in
the current situation when growing need to develop new deposits at great depths
and in difficult geological conditions. Currently, the use of aluminum alloys
is limited in the oil and gas industry in Ukraine. Despite the significant
advantages: strengthening external surface drill pipes, high purity surface
precision manufacturing for the geometrical parameters, including straightness,
that provides high-speed, non-vibration drilling practices, the smooth movement
of the inner channel of drill pipe, threaded pipe joints high strength and
impermeability - drilling Company Ukraine mostly used steel pipes. The quantity
of horizontal wells increases in domestic and foreign drilling practice every
year. Since 2015 OJSC "NK" Rosneft "in the Consortium
project" Sakhalin-1 "successfully completed drilling the world's
longest horizontal well 0-14 [1], drilled towards the far southeastern part of
the deposit" with drilling platform "Orlan". The well has a
length of 13,500 meters on the trunk and the horizontal section of the barrel -
12033 m. Analysis of domestic and foreign technology, allows us to conclude that a rational layout of the drill
string and drill pipes performance are
critical factors that affect the efficiency of drilling wells. Alloy drill pipe
is used in drilling oil and gas wells to a depth of 4000 to 7000 m, including
horizontal wells long. Drilling was carried out with the use of 70-80% of the
volume of sinking oil wells. Drill pipe in the process withstand heavy loads,
but the main problem in the drilling process is the lack of reliability of the
drill pipe and connecting nodes, which leads to increase in the duration of the
production process and, consequently, entails considerable amount of time to
replace the pipes that are out of order as a result of failures. In this
regard, there is a need to increase the reliability of the column of pipes and
improve productivity during drilling. Thus, the problem of improving the
reliability of drill column is relevant in today's workplace. The usefulness of
aluminum drill pipes in oil and gas industry, thereby increasing the
reliability of the drill string and reduce failures during drilling,
summarizing the advantages of the use of drill pipe from aluminum with external
screw spiral ribs and aluminum drill pipe in combined columns in drilling
horizontal hole large extent is studied in the paper. The main limitations
while drilling the lower ranges of horizontal wells have a problem cleaning the
barrel of sludge and the difficulties in communicating axial load and torque to
the bit in the process of overcoming the resistance, which, in turn, oppose the
movement and rotation of the drill string. The most dangerous consequence of
compressive stress is a local loss longitudinal stability, which is first in
the form of a plane sine wave that moves with increasing loading space to form
a spiral. The main limitations while drilling the lower ranges
of horizontal wells have a problem cleaning the barrel of sludge and the
difficulties in communicating axial load and torque to the bit in the process
of overcoming the resistance, which, in turn, oppose the movement and rotation
of the drill string. When drilling with rotation is also evident in the forms
of vibrational plane sinusoidal or space spiral snake that planetary axis hole
by the action of the combination of loads: compressive longitudinal and
transverse centrifugal.
Excess compressive efforts on critical loads
accompanied by significant efforts in pressing contact is borehole wall that
could lead to "hang" and jamming column. When drilling horizontal
wells to combat compressed parts according to recommendations by the
following methods:
- more rigid configurations, including the
thick-walled pipe with a larger outer diameter spiral ribs outer surface and
fitted protectors in the center of the pipe;
- weight loss to horizontal section;
- reduce resistance when moving through improved
cleaning and layout inclusion of special devices such as
"Hydrowedge";
- limitation regimes drilling without rotation.
All these recommendations are aimed, on the one hand,
to increase the longitudinal stiffness, on the other - to reduce resistance
when moving. However, recommendations are mutually contradictory requirements
include: increasing the rigidity of steel drill pipe is always associated with
an increase in their weight and as a result - with increasing resistance
movement and rotation. In addition, the use of high speed causes increased wearing
out locks and body tubes on the horizontal section of the trunk, and also
reduces the durability of drill pipe.
Given the specific physical and mechanical properties
of aluminum alloys, allows during drilling appropriate to replace steel alloy
drill pipe in particular drill pipe from aluminum with external screw spiral
fins. The details include: a small proportion in drilling fluids, specific
strength, the flexibility that facilitates placement of the pipes in highly
curved areas of the trunk.
Analysis of foreign technologies and technical means
used for horizontal wells allows concluding that a rational layout of the drill
string and the performance of the drill pipes are crucial factors affecting the
efficiency of drilling of wells. The use combined with the inclusion of alloy
drill pipe allows while drilling not only significantly reduce the load on the
lift of the rig, but also increase the length of the horizontal stem of these
well. During drilling is under compressive effort, while during the vertical
and directional wells with small zenith angles bulk is stretched. The most
dangerous consequence of compressive stress is a local loss of longitudinal
stability.
