Autologous platelet plasma in the dental practice
Platelet-rich plasma is a preparation that is obtained
from the patient's venous blood, through centrifugation in specially designed
tubes. This autologous drug contains 6-7 times more platelets than the usual
blood of the patient [2].
Efficiency, safety and minimally invasive - the basic
requirements for modern technologies in medicine. These qualities satisfy the
technology of application of autologous platelet plasma (TAP) is a method
Plasmolifting, outdoor Russian scientists MD by Ahmerov R. R. and K. M. n
Saradiel of the Russian Federation. at
the beginning of the XXI century. In addition to the method of dentistry has
been successfully applied in dermatology and cosmetology, obstetrics and
gynecology, orthopedics and traumatology, neurology, sports medicine.[3]
Plasmoliftingtm method reduces the degree of inflammation, reduces the number
of inflammatory cell infiltrates and inflammatory cells in the inflammatory
focus, promotes the regeneration of gum tissue.[3]
For example, in the practice of a dentist-surgeon, the
plasmolifting TAP method is used both when removing one tooth and when removing
several teeth in different segments of the oral cavity, when removing
teeth-"wisdom", when tooth - preserving operations, and most
importantly, this method is very effective when closing perforations of the
maxillary sinus. This technique allows to accelerate the healing process of the
holes after tooth extraction or postoperative wounds, and reduce the risks of
complications in the postoperative period, reduce pain and tissue edema [5].
Autologous platelet plasma can be used for
conservative treatment of hypertrophic gingivitis in patients with fixed orthodontic
appliances [7], as well as for the prevention of inflammatory complications in
patients with pathology of periodontal patients on the background of
orthodontic treatment [6, 9], in the treatment of periodontitis with pockets of
destruction in the bone [8], for the treatment and prevention of
periimplantitis in dental implant [1,4,5] .
Platelets contain growth factors that are highly
active biological stimulants of regeneration processes. The use of autoplasma
by this technology is simple, affordable, does not require complex equipment,
safe and effective, it allows you to remove inflammation, reduce bleeding and
reduce the duration of treatment [4]. The use of autoplasma for the treatment
of chronic periodontitis can reduce the frequency of exacerbations, lengthen
the remission of periodontal disease, promotes. In addition, plasma is
autologous, which excludes infection and allergic reactions.[5]
For a more accurate idea of the action of the method
Plasmolifting, and effectiveness of the injectable form of platelet autologous
plasma in complex treatment and prophylaxis of gingivitis in patients
undergoing orthodontic treatment with fixed appliances, monitored during 6
months of orthodontic 58 patients on supportive periodontal treatment. The
study showed that in the group, where injections of platelet autologous plasma
were carried out in order to prevent complications from periodontal tissues,
the hygiene index was lower by 36.11% (p<0.01); the level of bleeding is
28.65% (p<0.01); the prevalence of inflammation in periodontal tissues is
24.97% lower than in the control group (p<0.01), which was a confirmation of
the positive effect of the main group of procedures in patients and allows
recommending the method for use in the complex of supporting periodontal
therapy in this group of patients [9].
To date, the method (TAP) Plasmolifting has become
widespread and recognized in practical dentistry due to the simplicity of
preparation and use of the drug, its absolute safety, the absence of risks of
rejection and the development of side effects.
